Answer 1 :
it will work anywhere until it runs out of battery and u have to plug it in. u will have to get a different kind of charger. we had to when we came from australia to america - for our video camera.
Answer 2 :
better u buy an australian system
Answer 3 :
It will work just fine. Your power cord/AC adaptor should be able to accept any voltage input from 100v to 240v 50-60 hz, just check the box on the cord and if it says 100-240v 50-60hz input, you are good to go. You probably will need an adaptor for your plug, here's a website that will show you the different plugs around the world: http://www.kropla.com/electric2.htm

Answer 1 :
Check the label on your laptop's power brick. It will list what forms of current it can use. From experience in working with computers, most laptops can switch between the two common electric services (120v/60hz and 220v/50hz) in the world just fine. According to the ever-accurate WikiPedia (sarcasm intended), India's standard mains current is 230v/50hz. So long as your laptop's power brick can take Indian current, all you will need is an adapter for the plug.

Can I buy a laptop in the US and bring it to India, when I'm already carrying my office laptop with me ?
I am carrying my office laptop with me on my trip to the US. I want to buy a personal laptop in the US and bring it to India. What do I have to do to avoid any customs hassles ? Do I need to declare my office laptop while leaving India ?

Answer 1 :
Nope, you are allowed only one laptop - official or personal. Unless you are good at bargaining and paying bribes to customs, stick to one ;)
Answer 2 :
I found webpages that pertain to US citizens who are departing the USA with articles, like a laptop. These rules apply to US citizens only. I placed them in the Source box below. I presume India and its Customs division (whatever the Indian government names that agency) has its own rules regarding purchasing high-value items in one country and bringing it with you into India. Maybe these US rules will give you an idea of India's rules (whether or not they are similar to the US rules) but at least this information will spark some curiosity regarding India's rules. Sorry if that last paragraph is confusing. Check out India's website to learn its customs rules. Good Luck!
Answer 3 :
Well, I always just purchase electronics abroad when I travel and just go through the "Nothing to declare" line in customs. I mean really, they can't tell that you purchased your laptop at a certain spot.
