How to send a laptop from United States to India?
I want to send a laptop from the United States to my family in India. How can I do it with minimum cost and maximum surety of delivery? Do I have to pay custom duties? (please don't say send them with a person visiting India).

Its really not that hard. Wrap it up in a box, make sure you have bubble wrap or something cushiony to protect it. Write the address in both english and indian, along with the word FRAGILE. Then, bring it to the post office. Itll probably cost like $10-$20 to ship to india.

the US postal service. and take out insurance on it . you can get enough insurance to cover the replacement of it and it will only cost you a few dollars. also make sure you tell them at the post office you want delivery confirmation on your package. that way you can call the 800 number on your receipt to make sure they delivered it on time. thats the way people always send care packages to family members in the military as well. i send my sister packages at christmas in arizona that way as well. good luck and best wishes

Wrap it up, put an address in India on it and go to the next Post Office. They should know how to handle such a tricky problem!

Itz not that easy, I think. There will be customs charges / duties in India to clear it. So better check with any private door-to-door services available in your area or not. Otherwise send it along with your friends who are visiting India. :)
